For this subject, Architecture Culture and History 1, our projects were
split to several parts, first being the essay part, second the analysis presentation
board, and third would be a model and lastly verbal presentation. We asked to
choose a historical building to study from. And we have chosen the ‘Church of
San Vitale, Ravenna Italy’ from the Byzantine era.

Project: Precedent Study
LEARNING OUTCOME
Recognize and recall appropriate verbal architectural vocabulary when
referring to building types, styles and periods.
Exemplify the sequence of historical periods and how they are
represented architecturally.
Classify the sequence of historical periods and how they are
represented architecturally.
Produce building analysis which document intentions, concepts,
patterns, disciplines, architectural language and contextual relationships.
Part 1 – Essay
[We were required to form a 500-words essay regarding the chosen
building. To illustrate how much we understand on the building. We were able to
produce images along with the text to explain our understanding.]

[Using only balsa timber with a 30 x 10 x 30 frame to help communicate the analysis stated on the previous part. Also to understand better on the structure and components of the building.]
