Building Construction 1

For this assignment, in a group of nine members, we were to construct a study on at least two on-going construction sites. Writing a report on the details and the documentation of the chosen project. Topics that are partly covered by me would be; Site Safety, Wall System and Ceiling.

Project 1: Experiencing Construction: Experiencing, documentation and analysing Construction Process.
[Task is to select on-going construction site which visibly covers most of subjects topics covered in the syllabus. Identify different types of building elements and its construction process, details and materials]

LEARNING OUTCOME:
Produce a complete documentation (pictures, sketches and drawing) and analysis of construction elements
Understand and explain construction elements and its components
Understand current construction technology on local construction sites
Explain current material and technology in relevance to present construction industry

For Project Two, the task in linked to Architectural Design Studio 2, as we were to propose details for the building designed in Design Studio 2.

Project 2: To identify and propose three architectural details for selected element or part of the building apart from providing the necessary plans, section and elevation. Covering; roof, superstructure and foundation. A2 presentation board to contain scaled and manually drafted drawings.

LEARNING OUTCOME:
Select suitable structural elements for their design project
Design and apply a structural element for their design project
